RC Helicopter Tips That Will Give You More Airtime

RC Helicopter Tips That Will Give You More Airtime
Flying remote controlled RC helicopters is a fun and rewarding hobby. It can be challenging. There are many different parts and pieces in those miniature helicopters. Here are some excellent tips that will give you more airtime and less downtime.
The very first tip that every pilot should learn is to understand your helicopter. While it is a toy, it is also a very complex machine with extremely fast moving parts. Always think safety first! You should have a small checklist that you go over before your start flying. Make sure everything looks and operates perfectly. Make sure all screws are nice and snug, especially the ones in the tail. Inspect all of the linkage. Make sure there are no snags and that every thing moves nice and smoothly.
Learn your radio and it’s controls. Go over the manual with a fine toothed comb and make sure there is no one else near you operating at the same frequency. Make sure you know what every little button and switch does before you fly.
The next tip is something a lot of people never think about. If you are a novice pilot, make sure that you have plenty of room when you first start flying. Large open fields are a great place to start. Never try and fly your RC helicopter indoors. This is a bad idea!
These are just a few great tips that will help you get the most our of your new remote controlled RC helicopter. Play safe and have fun!
